After a lackluster showing in March, Sony is back at the plate with another State of Play tomorrow.
It has long been common knowledge that Sony will not be attending this year’s E3 and it looks as if Sony is opting to more of a Nintendo Direct style. Nintendo popularized their Direct style of presentation by forgoing larger stage shows and trade convention and releasing multiple video presentations to fans throughout the year. According to the announcement on the PlayStation Blog this will be a short presentation being “around 10 minutes.” The announcement also said that there will be nothing in the show relating to the next generation of hardware. “Don’t expect any updates relating to our next-generation plans this time. Sorry!” according to the blog post. Though the blog post kills the hopes that there will be any next gen talk, there has been some information on the content of the 10 minute show. “The episode features another look at the MediEvil remake and a new title,” according to Matthew Kato in an article on GameInformer. Sony’s first attempt at this fell flat. In the nearly 20 minute video, Sony covered multiple upcoming VR and other small projects that did not really grab the masses in any real significant way. Especially when Sony has titles like “The Last of Us 2”, “Death Stranding” and “Ghost of Tsushima” still in the pocket that do not have a set release date. Sadly with this upcoming show’s short run time, we will most likely have to wait even longer for more info on those games. Sony’s State of Play will go live tomorrow at 3 pm Pacific and 6 pm Eastern
